Overview

Volkswagen wanted to change outdated perceptions about diesel technology prior to introducing the 2009 Jetta TDI, its new, 50-state clean diesel vehicle.

Challenge

Educate, inform and excite the public and the media on VW's advances in clean diesel technology and alternative fuels.

Solution

Design and build turnkey traveling exhibit—in a 53-foot-long expandable trailer—with stops at environmental/alternative fuel festivals, and auto shows. Use guided tours, interactive displays, video and hands-on learning experiences to showcase advances in clean diesel technology, design and performance.

Results

Enthusiastic crowds and positive media response exceed expectations. Blowout attendance of 41,000. More than 100 media interviews. Seven million "traveling billboard" impressions.
